Honouring Natural Timber

Welcome! I'm the maker behind Valley Woods. My passion lies in finding beauty within the natural imperfections of wood—celebrating unique grain loops, knots, and colour shifts that industrial manufacturing strips away.

Every piece in this shop is handmade right here in my workshop. I work exclusively with sustainably sourced local timbers and architectural offcuts that would otherwise go to waste.

By blending traditional hand tools with clean modern lines, my goal is simple: to make beautiful, functional tools and items that make your daily routines feel more grounded.

Wood Care Guide

Solid timber lives and breathes. Follow these guidelines to ensure your items stay beautiful for a lifetime:

  • Hand Wash Only: Never submerge your boards in water or place them in a dishwasher. Wipe clean with mild soap and warm water.
  • Dry Instantly: Stand your boards upright on their edge to dry evenly on both sides. This prevents warping.
  • Oil Frequently: When the timber looks dry or dull, rub a generous layer of food-safe mineral oil or wood wax over the surface. Let sit for 20 minutes and buff off the excess.
